Trolls #moviereview

I was able to attend a free advanced screening for Dreamworks  Trolls Movie. All opinions are my own.
My dear Dynamo did not make it to the playoffs so I do have a little more time on my hands. I was invited to preview the Trolls Movie with my little Zoë she loved the movie so much we had to change the theme of her birthday party!!!
The visuals throughout the whole movie keep you in awe. The colors are amazing. We watched it in 3d and I tell you it's a must you feel like you are there having a party with Poppy (main character). The storyline is very positive and easy to understand Zoë just turned 5 and was relatable to her. I has an adult had a good laugh and resisted the urge to get up and dance!!

I asked Zoe for her thoughts on the movie this was her answer:
I liked it. It was awesome. It was fun I want to see it again.

We will definetly see it again in theatres. will you be going?

TROLLS
Animation, in 3D
Release: November 4, 2016
Director: Mike Mitchell
Co-Director: Walt Dohrn
Producer: Gina Shay
Cast: Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Russell Brand, Zooey Deschanel, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Quvenzhané Wallis, with John Cleese and Gwen Stefani
Here is a synopsis:
From the creators of Shrek comes DreamWorks Animation's Trolls, a smart, funny, and irreverent comedy about the search for happiness, and just how far some will go to get it. This hilarious film transports audiences to a colorful, wondrous world populated by the overly optimistic Trolls, with a constant dance in their step and a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomachs.
After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (Kendrick), the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious curmudgeonly Branch (Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends. Together, this mismatched duo embark on a rescue mission full of adventure and mishaps - trying to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done.
Utilizing music to further the film's narrative, the Trolls soundtrack is produced by Justin Timberlake and features five original songs including songs by Justin Timberlake and Gwen Stefani in addition to a number of classic hits from the 60's - 80's.

Keep your cool!!! (Mission Review)

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Its Texas yall so hot and humid is probably what your getting when you are outside. It is also sports season!!! Zoë and Ever both play soccer and i love to cheer them on but the hardest part for me has always been being comfortable in this Texas weather. I needed a solution so when I received the Mission products I was static!!! Finally something to keep me cool!!! Not only was I thinking about myself but Ever and Zoë hot weather can make you feel sick due to dehydration, overheating and many other factors.

Per Mission "Enduracool: Mission's instant cooling technology allows you to maximize athletic performance during competition and training. Our proprietary technology slows the rate of evaporation within it's series of hollow-core fibers which cools to 30 degrees below average body temperature."

The Mission products have been incorporated in my daily routines. From going to the Zoo,cutting grass, exercising and cheering on my favorite teams. They have many products too choose from. I you are someone that needs to have a coordinated outfit you can still manage that; the cooling towels come in different colors and patterns!!! I cannot wait to buy more colors. You can check them out on their website missionathletecare.com.  I have many items in mind for my holiday shopping. Now if only we could get some kid size socks and shirts!!!

Reflecting Cooling Headband
Enduracool Microfiber Cooling Towel

How to Activate?

  • Soak the towel
  • After completely soaking the fabric, wring out the excess water
  • Snap the fabric three times to promote airflow and activate the cooling technology

The Mission products have really cool technology that helps you stay cool and comfortable. The fabric is lightweight, chemical free and its UPF50!!! The Technology never washes out and helps you defend against dust and wind. When i'm with my baby Isabella i don't wet it but it does come in handy to shield her from the wind if needed or to just put it over her head if i don't have a hat handy for her. The Mission products are for the whole family we are definitely getting a good use. My dads birthday is coming up and will definitely get him the Cooling Bucket hat great for his fishing adventures!!!

Mission currently has some items on sale go ahead and give them a try!!! Oh and good luck on choosing a color or pattern they are all fabulous!!! missionathletecare.com

Beach and Futbol!!

It was our 8th yr wedding Anniversary week!!! yes I know time flies specially when you marry your true love. Enough of that lol I can go on and on writing on this awesome husband of mine lol. We decided to take a quick trip to Orlando, Florida. 1.Futbol, 2.Anniversary Week 3.In need of a Vacay.

The Houston Dynamo  @Orlando FC has always been on my bucketlist and what a way to celebrate with a beautiful away game!!! The game was delayed for about 15min due to lightning in the area. Which allowed us to get in our seats on time!! The sky was purple as to advising the visitors it was going to be a good fight for the win. It was a bit eerie but beautiful. The game ended in a 0-0.

The Camping World Stadium (previously known as Citrus Bowl) is not the permanent stadium for Orlando FC so many of the amenities other stadiums have seem pretty basic. Food is mostly regular stadium food. Maybe BBVA Compass has me spoiled with the many choices of food lol. For beer I only had Three options BBVA Compass Stadium has many options including craft beer. Now lets talk about the energy!!! It was as expected. The stadium was not at capacity as it usually is but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Selfie con Erick "Cubo" Torres

The staff at the stadium was very friendly. Accessibility to the players both home and away was great I was able to take pictures with some of my favorite rivals lol.  Only bummer was not seeing Kaka play or meeting him.

Left: Brek Shea Top Right: Servando Carrasco Bottom Right: Joe Bendik

Since we where in Florida going to the beach was a must for us. We where excited to take our little Zoe. We told her we had a surprise for her wich she kept trying to guess all through the ride there. We ended in Cocoa Beach!! We stayed there all day Saturday.

She was so excited she didn't want our trip to end!!! Trust me we had the same feelings lol but it was an unplanned trip so we couldn't stay much longer. We headed back home on Sunday. Sunday was also the day of the Euro Final (Portugal vs France) and of course being a Futbol loving family we had to find a way!!!! Don't worry the driver (me) had their eyes on the road the whole time!!! I can visualize the play just by hearing!!

Christiano Ronaldo celebrating Portugals win!!

It was awesome roadtrip. I'm hopeful that we are able to Visit more stadiums in the future!! Do you have a stadium you would like to visit?

#ridescapade

Did you know boarding a bicycle on a Houston metro bus and Metro Rail is acceptable and encouraged?!!!

I had the opportunity to join Metro on a ridescapade and visit The Bicycle Museum. We where greeted by Ms.Joy, she gave us a brief tour of the Museum and shared her knowledge of bicycles with us. The Houston Bicycle Museum has antique bicycles and memorabilia. Hours of operation for The Houston Bicycle Museum are: Tuesday-Wed 10am-5pm Thur-Fri 10am-7pm  Sat 10am-6pm Sun1pm-6pm Mondays are Closed. They also offer free entrance on Thursdays from 3-7pm.
Heres a link for more info.:Houston Bicycle Museum

Ms.Joy

We couldn't  just drive there on a beautiful day!!! Houston BCycle provided some really comfortable bicycles for our trip. It was my first time checking out one of these bikes. It was really easy all you need to do is insert your credit or debit card and follow the options from the kiosk  select your bike y listo!! Houston Bcycle is expanding through out the city they are in the works of setting up 71 station locations and you can have a say by imputing suggestions to http://houston.bcycle.com/suggest.

BCycle station next to Metrorail

I love how Houston Metro is working with other companies such as  Houston BCycle to provide Houston residents with more transportation options that help the environment, encourages a Healthier lifestyle and more routes to get to work.

One of my goals for this year is to use Metro bus and Metro Rail and explore this beautiful City of Houston,Tx. One way that I have already started enjoying the accessibility of the Metro rail is by Using Houston Dynamo season ticket pass for FREE ride to BBVA Compass stadium on Game day. It is also free for single game day tickets.Metro rail has a stop right on the steps of BBVA.

Bittersweet

The Copa America Centenario has come to an end with Chile taking the win over Argentina. The game went to extra time and then to penalties!!. The shootout ended in a 4-2. It was a sad ending for the "Greatest Player of All Time" Lionel Messi. He stood there in that small circle in the middle of the box, he kicked and the ball rose up and up as everyone watched in aww. I personally felt a punch to my stomach. I cant imagine what he is feeling. Messi has given an interview right after the game in which he said "creo que no es para mi" in which he is referring to the Argentina National Team. Messi was then asked if he was going to represent that jersey again and went to say "creo que no". I still have mixed feelings about his decision which might have been in the heat of the moment. Now lets take it back to about a week ago The Semifinals!!!

As a Futbol fanatic I was more than excited to know that three matches of this prestigious cup where going to be played in my hometown of Houston,Tx. As a non working mom and wife I was saddened by the prices of tickets to the games. I didn't plan to attend to any of the games for the reason stated above but since Ever (the hubby) knows the way to my heart he got the tickets to the Semifinal match USA vs Argentina!!!! Wow what a surprise. It was bittersweet knowing that the greatest player of all time Leonel Messi was going to be a few feet away from me but playing against my country!!!

Waiting for the train!!

It was a Tuesday. The Traffic to the game was going to be intense due to NRG Stadium being close to the Medical Center. We decided to take the Metrorail to the stadium it was the best decision!!! It was 7:18pm when we where ready to get on the train which made us a little nervous since kickoff for the game was scheduled to 8:05pm. The ride to the stadium was a breeze we took the redline from downtown which has a stop right at a gate entrance to NRG Stadium. We made it just in time!!!! We saved ourselves the hassle of looking and paying for parking.

Once inside the energy was what I expected. It was a full house 70,858 fans in attendance to be exact. Breaking a record of assistance in a Futbol game at NRG Stadium!!!! In which I can now proudly say I was there!!! The game unfortunetly didn't go well for the USMNT. Argentina took the win with a score of 0-4. One of those goals was magical Messi took a freekick and scored it was pure magic it is also probably the last goal scored by Messi with the Argentina jersey since his announcement to retire from the national team. I didnt celebrate this beautiful goal my heart ached for the USMNT and their loss. I was divided in half my country and the presence of a legend.

The ride home seemed like forever but with company of the fellow fans that had witnessed the defeat of the USMNT we had time to reflect on the Beautiful game played at NRG Stadium. Till we meet again Copa America.

Summer of Futbol!!

Its been some busy weeks for Futbol!!! Yes I know I have been a little MIA but being a mom of a 4yr old and a 4mth old can get pretty busy. Copa America is being hosted in the US if you didn't already know. I have been enjoying the games!!! Which ones have you watched?!!!

Have you attended a viewing party? Viewing parties are fun!!! If you cant make it to the stadium but still want to be surrounded by the excitement I suggest you look for one and go. I attended to viewing party for the game of Argentina VS Panama which resulted in a 5-0 game in favor of Argentina. I had a few drinks and awesome food by a local Food truck called Muiishi Makirritos Japanese Fusion. I love it when I get the opportunity to enjoy new foods. Soccer is a great way to learn about different places, cultures, foods many of the reasons I love this game!!!

Creamy Smoked Salmon Tempura Roll

Hot Mess Fries

It was a difficult decision!!!
A Semifinal game will be played here in Houston the first team to qualify for semifinals is the USA team who is waiting for their opponent. It will be one the most important soccer games  played at NRG Stadium. The possible opponent for this match is Argentina or Venezuela. If you are in Houston I would like to invite you to make as much noise and support our teams let everyone know that this city loves Futbol!!!

Futbol for a great cause!!!

This Tuesday I attended the BBVA Compass Charities Cup. It was a friendly game Houston Dynamo VS Real Sociedad. Real Sociedad from La Liga of Spain has been touring around the country and of course had to visit our great city!!!

It was a lovely night a with the hubby. We were in the West club and had a beautiful view!!! We had several drinks since they had pregame happy hour. The game was really an eye opener in to what we aspire to see from the Houston Dynamo trough out the season. They gave it their all and we where able to enjoy a very entertaining game. The game proceeded to penalties after staying 3-3 in regular plus added time. The game was won by the Houston Dynamo decided by penalties!!

If you have the chance to be seated in the west club do it!!! What a view!!!

Taco Tuesday? Order#8

Kaka one of the greatest players ever!!!! MLS has the pleasure to have him!! Every encounter he has with the ball is pure magic. Currently a Midfielder for Orlando City FC. The Brazilian national  Ricardo Kaka was signed to Orlando FC in 2014 but was on a loan to his first club Sao Paulo. He Returned to Orlando in 2015 and scored in his first match against Dallas FC on a friendly. Kaka scored the first goal in Orlando FC's competitive history. He his a great distance scorer and creative player. His great vision and passing abilities comes to great help for his teammates. He has also graced the cover for FIFA11, FIFA12,and FIFA16. On July 5,2015 he received his FIRST straight red card in his Career!!!
That says a lot for a player with 15yrs of professional Soccer in the books. Was it a red card? No I don't believe it was. Sorry Kaka

Pic from Instagram: @Kaka

I have encountered Kaka it was a magical day!!! March 13,2015. I can tell you that I was borderline crying. Unfortunetly I wasn't able to get a picture with him but after waiting a while outside BBVA Compass stadium I was lucky to get his autograph. Among the excitement and chaos I accidentaly smeared the fresh autograph!!! I was mad and devastated!! I hope one day I can take a decent picture with this legend.

Taco Tuesday? Order #7

Its been pretty gloomy here in Houston so lets cheer up with this cutie!! Benny Feilhaber!!!

Benny/photoshoot for interviewmagazine.com

Midfielder for Sporting Kansas City and previously for the USMNT. Benny was born in Brazil but moved to the US at the age of 6. He is has been playing with Sporting Kansas City since the 2013 Season. He is a natural comedian which you can truly appreciate on his show "The Benny Feilhaber Show".He has mad lip syncing skills and why not great dance moves.

Unfortunately he has not continued uploading new episodes. Which I really hope he does it is a great way to see the interaction with other soccer players.
Benny had a great 2015 season with Sporting he scored 10 Goals and had 15 assist. He also received All-Star recognition in MLS for the first time. He was also nominated for the 2015 Landon Donovan MLS MVP Award.

Taco Tuesday? Order#6

This taco Tuesday I bring to you our Homegrown player Tyler Deric. He is a true inspiration and a great example that dreams do come true. He is the first Homegrown player signed to the Houston Dynamo and the 2nd in the leagues history to be called to the first team. A Homegrown player in the MLS is a local player signed from the academy directly to the MLS.

Deric was signed to the Dynamo in 2009 and assigned as 3rd Goalkeeper. That being said you can just imagine the wait!!! At the time of his signing Pat Onstad was 1st Goalkeeper for the Dynamo followed by Tally Hall. Maybe everything does happen for a reason it gave him the opportunity to learn from two great Goalkeepers.

For the misfortune of Deric he had trouble with the law in 2012 in which he was held in containment for "assaulting and off duty officer " (all charges where dismissed). I only bring this up because according to Deric that was a wake up call for him. He admits on MLS insider that he realized everything he had worked for could be gone in an instant. Since that incident he has worked and strived for the best. He had waited patiently for his turn when at the end of the 2014 season he was called to guard the goal!! He his currently the 1st Goalie for the Houston Dynamo and in my opinion (crossing fingers) is on the road to become the goalie for the USMNT!! why not? one of the greatest of the MLS!!

One of my personal favorite saves from Deric. (video from youtube.com)
Not only is it a beautiful save but I can just imagine the jitters he must of had!!! Deric is only a year older than me and growing up I have followed Kakas career and idolize him. Just the thought of being in the same building as him makes me want to cry. I imagine Tyler feels the same and he didn't let the nerves consume him and this is the outcome!!!

Discipline

Lets talk Disciplinary committee decisions. There has been several decisions made that have me wondering are all these reviews necessary? I feel like these reviews are affecting the dynamics of the game. Yes some reviews are necessary for example the suspension of Nigel de Jong of the LA Galaxy for the tackle he committed on Portland's Nagbe in round 5. I have also noticed other similar "offenses" where the players"endangered the safety of the opponent" one resulted in a fine and another in a suspension and fine. Which brings me to ask are these plays being measured with the same stick?

In my opinion the MLS should have more experienced Referee's that can make the call on site. I also put my self in their shoes and know that every call will not be right. But just leave it as that!!! There is also a "mistaken identity" that was revised on week 6 Columbus Crew vs New York City FC where the red card should have been issued to Tyson Whal but was given to Michael Parkhurst. The Disciplinary Committee decided to retract the suspension from Parkhurst and give it to Whal. Wasn't it the refs poor decision? If the correct player has now been suspended should the referee also be held accountable? Its not only the central referee they are assisted by sideline referees and still cant get it right. I get it they are front row of beautiful plays and can easily get distracted!!!

It also feels as the players and coaches cannot give their opinion for the fear of repercussions. I could go on and on but as the weeks continue the more cases I see at this rate the discipline tab at MLS.com will need a website of its own.In this post full of questions what are your thoughts on the subject?

On another note I attended a Happy Hour event on Tuesday At BBVA Compass stadium here are some Pics

Taco Tuesday? Order #5

So who do we have here? La Hormiga ATOMICA!!! That's a cool nickname right!!! Sebastian "The Atomic Ant" Giovinco is an Italian Forward/Midfielder. He currently plays for Toronto FC and the Italian National team. With a Height of 5'4"  he is the designated player for Toronto FC. He was obtained from Juventus team in the Serie A of Italy(I bet they want him back lol) in 2015. Since coming to the MLS he has brought magic to the game and it has not been left unseen and appreciated. He has won awards for MLS new comer of the year, MLS MVP and MLS Golden boot. He is such a  fun player to watch. He has become a great asset for the MLS with beautiful soccer that encourages other players to play with the same passion. I believe he has exposed our soccer to players in other leagues and hopefully encourage young European players to come and play in our league.

A wake up call!!!

So I'm doing the usual going over the end of day commentaries of various sports post and I stumble on  an article that mentions that some MLS teams are done for the season!!! Really we are only a few weeks in!!! In my opinion I believe we are not even at the tip of the iceberg. These teams that don't have as many points are the ones that are working the hardest to be at the top. Why?  You ask? they are the ones giving it all in the field. No one likes to be the loser. So yes maybe past years analytics tend to be right but lets live this season to the fullest!!

On another note today is Viernes de Futbol!!!
Todays match is  FC Dallas Vs. New York Red Bulls
Kick off is at 6:00 pm CT you can watch on UniMas which by the way they have SAP so no excuses, and it will also be on MLS Live.

Saturday the Houston Dynamo will be the first among Houston's  men's professional sports franchise to offer a regular season game online. watch the game against  Real Salt Lake  at houstondynamo.com/live coverage starts at 8:00pm CT

Lets support our teams!!!

Taco Tuesday? Order#4

How about a Texan yup he is from Nacogdoches, Tx!!! Clint Dempsey #2 for the Seattle Sounders is the Designated Player for the team. "The Captain" for the USMNT. Dempsey is the first American player to score in three World Cup Championships. He had a very successfull run in Europe playing for Fullham and Tottenham. He is a player with perseverance, determination and flare. He is a Midfielder that leads with example. Great to have him back in the MLS.
